Best Commentator: Aussie (that’s pronounced ‘Ozzie’ NOT ‘Ossie’ Geoff Ogilvy

NOT the professional commentators. It was Geoff Ogilvy in his post round interview. His insights into Tigger’s play did a great job of explaining why Tigger held the lead and why he’s the odds-on-favorite to win the whole show. To paraphrase The 2006 U.S. Open Champion he said that there’s no golfer better with a 2-iron than Tigger. Geoff went on to talk about how Hoylake doesn’t demand the Driver from Tigger (the club that gets Tigger into deep trouble) and instead can rely on his amazing long-iron play. Tigger’s going to 2-iron and 4-iron Hoylake to death. Follow that with some decent putting and you can see this being a lights-out kind of event over Saturday and Sunday.
